This important event is more than a procedural requirement; it’s an opportunity to celebrate achievements, engage in meaningful dialogue, and set the course for the year ahead.

Attendees will hear updates from the executive committee, gain insight into ongoing and future initiatives, and take part in shaping the direction of our cooperative. Whether you’re a long-time member or newly curious about our work, your presence and voice are vital.
Special Presentation by Jared Blustein, Calgary Climate Hub
We are thrilled to welcome Jared Blustein, Executive Director of the Calgary Climate Hub, as our keynote speaker. Jared will share his experiences and insights in a talk titled:
“Organizing and Empowering Communities for Enhanced Resilience and Climate Outcomes”
He will provide a broad overview of the Calgary Climate Hub’s recent work, with a spotlight on clean electricity advocacy and community-led Nature-Based Solutions to climate change. Jared will also explore the evolving partnership between the Hub and BVGEC, highlighting the power of local collaboration in the fight for a sustainable future.
Meet Our Keynote Speaker
Jared Blustein (he/him), MA, is a born-and-raised Calgarian whose commitment to climate action is rooted in his deep connection to Alberta’s foothills, prairies, and mountains. His path into activism was shaped by witnessing the intersections of Indigenous land dispossession, socio-economic inequality, and environmental degradation. A former co-founder of The Allium Worker Cooperative, Jared now leads the Calgary Climate Hub, a grassroots charity empowering Calgarians to take meaningful climate action.
