Friends of BVGEC are volunteers who want to actively support our work, whether for a short project or an ongoing committee role. When you sign up, you're joining a growing network of people committed to building a more sustainable future in the Bow Valley and beyond.

To truly make a difference in the fight against climate change, everyone must benefit. Help us take climate action and build a more inclusive local economy by bringing renewable energy to our community. Meet others who share your passion for change and are using their voices to make a difference.

Registering as a Friend of Bow Valley Green Energy Cooperative is an annual subscription and is entirely free of charge.

As our friend you will:

  • Have the opportunity to participate in board committees

At BVGEC, our mission is powered by community spirit and volunteer engagement. Your willingness to contribute plays a vital role in bringing this mission to life, so thank you for stepping forward!

Our volunteer assignments are grouped by committee and include a specific task or project outcome. We’re looking for individuals with relevant skills or interests, and we welcome those who are ready to learn and take the lead, with guidance and support.

All volunteers are paired with a BVGEC board member for training and mentorship.

Time Commitment: Most roles require 5–8 hours per month.
Duration: Some assignments are short-term or project-based; others require a longer-term commitment.

Once you sign up as a Friend of BVGEC Volunteer, we’ll send you a welcome package and next steps to help you get started in your task selection.
