Our Volunteer's Transform Alberta's Energy!

Volunteer Opportunities

Our Mission to make renewable energy accessible and affordable is driven by community and volunteer engagement.

Your volunteerism helps make this Mission a reality.

Thank you for volunteering!

Our volunteer assignments are listed by Committee, and describe a project/task and outcome that supports this work area.

We are looking for volunteers with relevant skills, experience or aptitude for specific assignments and individuals that can, with some orientation and direction, take the lead and deliver the listed outcome.

For more details on our committees and desired skill skillets, please see our most recent terms of reference.

Please note that all volunteer assignments are supported by a board member willing to provide training and support as needed.

Assignments vary and can be project based or short term while others require a term commitment. All assignments require 5-8 hours per month.

If you have time in Sept -Dec., we would love to hear from you! Once you sign up as a volunteer, we will reach out to you with a volunteer welcome package and some assignment instructions to get you started.

We look forward to working with you!

Thank you on behalf of the Board of BVGEC and RMCE!

On behalf of the BVGEC Board of Directors, we thank you for wanting to volunteer with us.

We look forward to meeting you!

Once you’ve signed up for a volunteer role, you will receive an email from our Membership and Engagement Director Sue Hayduk to discuss the role and begin your onboarding.

Below you will find a list of of some of the preliminary items we use in our onboarding package to help you as a new volunteer.

  • We ask all of our volunteers to sign a volunteer agreement. This helps us and our volunteers understand our commitment to each other, our role and responsibilities and the underlying values of our partnership.

  • As a volunteer representative of BVGEC, we ask all of our volunteers to sign a confidentiality agreement. This helps us and our volunteers understand the role of information sharing, professionalism and confidentiality principles as you undertake your volunteer duties with BVGEC.

  • It all begins with hello 🙂

All of our volunteers are welcomed into the organization through a process we call onboarding.

From our first introduction, to the assignment, training and recognition we want you to feel welcomed and part of something bigger.

    A community of changemakers!

Our welcome and volunteer onboarding is a sign of our committment to your experience being positive, professional and productive.

Thank you, on behalf of the Board of BVGEC.

  • View our Terms of Reference to learn more about our Committees, their goals and the skill sets we are looking for in our volunteers.

  • For Leadership positions only.

As a leadership volunteer, we ask that you complete an interview sheet to elaborate on your skills and how they match the volunteer role you are interested in.

This helps us better understand your strengths, and where we can assist in your development as part of our leadership team.

If you have not yet signed up as a Friend or Member of BVGEC, we encourage you to do so, as it will be a requirement of volunteering.
